Geospatial Application Development Specialist
Sudip Pradhan is a Geospatial Application Development Specialist at ICIMOD and the Geospatial Information Technology (GIT) Lead for SERVIR-HKH, a joint initiative of NASA and USAID.
With over two decades of experience, Sudip specialises in developing GIS/DSS tools and applications, enterprise GIS, spatial modelling, data analysis, and the design and implementation of GIT infrastructure. At ICIMOD, he leads database and application development efforts, overseeing the creation of several flagship geospatial web applications and decision support tools. He also played a key role in establishing ICIMOD’s Regional Database System.
Sudip holds an MSc in Geographic Information Science from University College London (UCL), UK. Previously, he was awarded the prestigious Nepal-Cambridge scholarship, enabling him to pursue a Postgraduate Diploma in Mathematical Statistics at the University of Cambridge, UK. He completed his BSc at Tribhuvan University, Nepal, and received the Mahendra Vidhya Bhusan gold medal for graduating at the top of his class.
