Research Associate
Sabin Bhattarai is a geologist and currently works as a Research Associate at ICIMOD. He is developing a landslide database for various river basins in Nepal to support the development of a landslide early warning system. He has extensive experience in landslides and their morphology, rainfall-related disasters, multi-hazard assessment, geological hazards, and hydrogeological phenomena.
Sabin holds a master’s degree (MSc) in Engineering Geology from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He received the prestigious “Annual NSEG Thesis Award 2024” for his remarkable thesis.
Sabin is passionate about applying his knowledge and continuing to learn about disaster risk reduction to promote resilient and sustainable development.
