Senior Research Associate Digital Cartography
Gauri Dangol is a Senior Research Associate Digital Cartography for ICIMOD, focusing on digital technology and innovation.
He has contributed to a range of cartographic innovations, including the creation of various thematic maps, travel destination maps, participatory 3-dimensional models, and the development of online/offline 3D visualizations. Gauri is adept at digital mediums, crafting digital flip books, and building 3D STL models for 3D printing. Moreover, he has been instrumental in publishing web map services, customising field data collection mobile apps using Esri ArcGIS Survey123, and further augmenting ICIMOD’s digital presence and accessibility to geospatial data.
In 2001, he was honoured with the first prize from the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction, Government of Nepal, for his groundbreaking concept design of the Kranti Gate (Kranti Dwar, Gaur, Rautaha).
