Hydrologist
Manish Shrestha works as Hydrologist at ICIMOD. He leads the work on Weather and Climate Resilience of the SERVIR-HKH initiative, overseeing the development and operation of decision-making tools for extreme weather and flood management and strengthening capacity to integrate support systems at local, national, and regional levels.
He has over a decade of experience in water resources management, climate change, water-induced disaster management, land use analysis, ecosystem service modeling, and GIS-based studies.
Prior to joining ICIMOD in 2020, he held the role of Senior Researcher at the Stockholm Environment Institute and the Asian Institute of Technology.
Manish authored 15+ peer-reviewed articles and has extensive field experience across South and Southeast Asia, including Bangladesh, Cambodia, Japan, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Pakistan, and Vietnam.
He holds a postgraduate degree in Water Engineering and Management from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand.
