Geospatial Training Analyst
Poonam Tripathi is a Geospatial Training Analyst within ICIMOD’s SERVIR-HKH intervention, contributing to the organisation’s work on Restoring and Regenerating Landscapes.
Holding this position since 2018, Poonam has contributed to capacity building for individuals and institutions on Earth Observation (EO), Geographic Information Technology (GIT), and innovations for informed decision-making with an emphasis on fostering gender parity in the Hindu Kush Himalaya workforce.
With a decade of research experience in various ecological science domains, including carbon dynamics, land-use and land-cover change, and biodiversity characterization, Poonam actively contributes to scholarly discourse through publications in peer-reviewed journals and participation in national and international conferences.
Poonam earned her PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and an MTech degree in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System from the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun.
